I'm nominating the Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail as a Best Mom idea for first time moms.

Why the Munchkin Diaper Pail?

As a mom you will go through SO many diapers!  You will need somewhere to toss those diapers, especially the dirty ones.  The Munchkin Diaper Pail really helps control the odor!  I would even consider getting two—one for the baby’s room and one for the main living area.  Once your little one starts solid food, those diapers tend to get stinkier so the regular trash can might not be able to contain the odor as well.

Cost

The Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Pail costs about $33-100 on Amazon.  There is a $33 version that I have.  It is the outdated version, but has a 4.3 star rating with over 500 reviews.  The latest version has a step so you can open the pail with your foot, but it cost $80. 

Is the Munchkin Diaper Pail worth the money?

I think it is worth the money.  I have been using one for 2 ½ years now.  I even purchased a second one for when my second son was born.  It contains the odor so well, and it holds quite a few diapers before having to replace the bag!

You should also consider making a baby registry with Amazon, then you might be able to get the Diaper Pail as a gift!  My personal recommendation would be to get the cheaper $33 dollar version; I haven't tried the newer version, but it's hard to imagine that it would be worth $50 more.
